Overview
This interesting and challenging role will cover the full Occupational Health spectrum whilst continuously promoting health and wellbeing to all employees.
You'll be a registered Nurse and have a relevant Occupational Health qualification with experience gained within an occupational health department. You will have well-developed communication and presentation skills and be a confident decision maker. You must also be able to challenge appropriately ensuring that local decisions reflect company policies and procedures. You will have plenty of drive and be a key player in delivering the business objective of reducing both short and long term sickness levels. You will offer advice, guidance and your professional opinion on the best way to manage each case to achieve a satisfactory outcome. Regular visits to our employee’s home will be required as will the occasional overnight stay.
Accountabilities
You will also advise, guide and support employee health initiatives across the business and have the opportunity to work autonomously managing your own diary.
A proven track record in finely tuned case management skills are required. You will be using your skills and knowledge to offer a professional solution to the management team, whilst taking advice and guidance from our company doctors provided through Aviva.
You will be working as part of a team including other occupational health advisors, the wider HR Team, Regional Exec Teams, Senior Managers and our external Occupational Health provider Aviva.
Thorough knowledge of DDA, HASAW act and other relevant legislation will be required
Although not essential knowledge of Railways Group Standards would be an advantage
